With Plock Professional Edition, hours can be tracked company-wide. A server computer stores all the project and time information and is accessed by client computers over the local area network. It's best to have the network administrator involved in setting up Plock, as network security settings may affect its function.
How to setup the server computer
After installing Plock and entering your license key, you will be given the option to setup a Plock database server on this computer, connect to a Plock database server on your local area network, or use a stand-alone database. Select "Setup a Plock database server on this computer".
If you're not presented with this option, check your order receipt and ensure that you have purchased the professional edition. If not, talk to us about upgrading.
Plock will now install and setup Microsoft SQL Server Express. Be patient, this may take several minutes.
Next you'll be asked to give the user of this installation a name. This user will be the first administrator, and can control project access settings, and grant administrator access to other users.

Please note that the license key is used by Plock to identify an individual user. You therefore must have a unique license key for each person.

Choose the Plock server from the list of database servers found on your local area network. Sometimes a server may not found, but still exists. If the server is not in the list, try entering it manually in the format COMPUTER NAME/PLOCK.
